This short level served as a final for a level design class I took at DigiPen. I was bound in the constraints of a very short timeframe and told to make a ten-minute walking simulator with a pre-built first-person controller. The provided controller's walking, sprinting, and jumping were a bit glitchy and not awfully engaging, so the Instructor's challenge was to make a compelling level despite that.
It follows a short adventure through the West Virginian wilderness to the foreboding Ito Institute.
As a solo assignment, I was responsible for the narrative, level, and sound design.
That said, the project uses the first-person controller provided by my Instructor and voice acting by Samuel Turner.
You can play the project here. Simply run the executable after you've downloaded and unzipped the folder.
While in-game, you can use each of the alpha-numeric 1-3 keys to teleport to a checkpoint once.
With such a quick turnaround for this project, some glitchy behaviors are unfortunately inevitable. So if at any point you get stuck, you can press one of these buttons to go to another checkpoint in the game.
