• RFC Reserves finished Runners-up to Epping in the Grand Final:  Epping 17.16 ( 118 ) Def  Research 13.10 ( 88 )

• Ross Norman won the Reserves DVFL Comp Goal Kicking Award ( 102 Goals ) and also played his 200th Game in the Grand Final

• Research Captain / Coach Stephen Easton would have won back-to-back  LeBrocq medals, ( ineligible, due to being suspended during the year)

• After the 1989 B Grade Grand final played against Epping, the RFC was placed on a $1500 bond for the 1990 season
