Nedry was panicking. He hadn't signed up for this! Threats from that meathead Muldoon! They were on to him. And he needed to get out.
The first batch of embryos he’d delivered had bagged him a cool $1.5 million. But Biosyn tech wasn’t up to the same level as InGen. They needed more. Nedry had been provided with another coolant can - this time with a promise of $3 million - double the first delivery. This time though, he was leaving for good.
Nedry watched the clock on the Control Room screen. He was tense. Everyone else had left for the night. He’d already retrieved the embryos earlier on his lunch break. No need to cut the power to cover his exit this time. He just needed to get out of the park and over to the East Dock.
The clock struck 21:00. Nedry grabbed his things and rushed to the garage. He threw his bag in the back of his Jeep, but kept the can close. In 20 minutes he’d be off this damn island, and would have enough cash to set up business far away.
He skid out of the garage, putting his foot to the floor. Feeling the cool evening breeze blow past, he began to calm down. He might actually be free! Those fools, he thought to himself. “There wouldn’t even be a Jurassic Park if it wasn’t for me!”
He passed the first East Dock sign. He’d be there in no time!
A rustling in the back seat caught his attention. “What was-”
Suddenly a small green dinosaur leapt over his shoulder and onto the dashboard. It stood and cocked its head, eyeing him inquisitively. It looked like a lizard, he thought. He didn’t recognise this one from the tour. How had it even got-
A sharp pain shot through the back of Nedry’s neck. Another one of those damn dinosaurs was biting him! A third hopped into the passenger seat and nipped at his hand.
He frantically tried to swat them away, but they kept nipping at his fingers. He couldn’t hold the wheel steady at all. Before he knew it, the Jeep swerved off the road and hit the base of a wide tree.
From the road, only the chirping of the Compsognathus, and the ticking of the busted engine could be heard over the still evening air.
