“We’re not out of the jungle just yet.” Grant began. “Those raptors you encountered. They’re part of a breeding population. I found a nest east of here. And I doubt that will be the only one on this island.”
Malcolm nodded. “All life has two instinctual impulses that no amount of tinkering or engineering, biological or otherwise can ever hope to overcome. One: Survival. Two: Reproduction.”
“Right. We’ll have to find out which other dinosaurs are able to breed. And then we’ll need to locate the nests. They’ll most likely be in secluded spots across the island.”
“Looks like our hands are full for the foreseeable future.” confirmed Muldoon. “And also Nedry hasn’t been seen for 24 hours.”
“Well” continued Grant. “I also found an abandoned Jeep in the forest, and some sort of device full of embryos. Someone was trying to smuggle them off the island.”
“Biosyn.” Ellie said, shaking her head.
“Right.” Grant nodded. “They got to Nedry.”
Muldoon was furious. “I knew we couldn’t trust the bastard."
Hammond, who’d be silent for the whole conversation, finally spoke up. “Malcolm was right.” Everyone was shocked. “I admit that I may have been too… enthusiastic. And that it may… may have led to a few blind spots.”
“The implications of this are immense.” Ellie said gravely. "BioSyn must already have embryos from Nedry’s last trip. And given what Grant found in the forest, it doesn’t look like they’re done with us yet.”
“You suspect more sabotage?” Hammond asked.
“Let’s not rule anything, or anyone, out.” Malcolm replied.
“Well, there’s one piece of this that still doesn’t add up.” said Ellie. “Where is Nedry?”
