Week 5

When I was a practice teacher at the school for one month, I couldn't believe how quickly the time went by. Now that one month has passed, the teachers and interns at the school are having a send-off event together. In the past, it seemed to me that one month was too long. Now, one month is enough for me. It's a very short day. In VFES, we were practice teachers for one month. I can't even imagine what we went through during that time. VFES hasn't been easy for the whole month, but there are still a lot of things I've learned and done that I'll remember. How good the teachers were at VFES can be seen by me now. They helped their students and interns become better people.

In week 5, I observed my co-interns while they were doing their demonstrations in different grade levels. Some of the students are very participative in the class, and some are not. You need to call their attention so that they will answer your question and participate in the class. Also, the last week in March, I reported to school to meet my cooperating teacher and other teachers. It's my first time reporting to school. I feel so excited to meet other teachers and face the reality of being a teacher. Also, in week 5, I made Filipino printed materials for grade 4. I also checked the books, notebooks, and printed materials in Grade 6. Also, we go only to the office during online classes because there is a strong internet connection. We offer ourselves to the other teachers what we can help them. And also meet our new cooperating teacher for the first cycle of the month and the other cycles of the month. For the second cycle of the month, my cooperating teacher asked for help with what project would be nice for a primary to do. I also suggested a possible project that primary students could do. On the last day of the month, we had a get-together with our cooperating teacher. We bought some food, as did Ma'am. She had a message for those students who will be assigned in DepEd. That week, I felt mixed emotions because we were still in VFES, but we were also happy because we knew that we could come out of our shells in these schools. After all, you have to deal with different learners. This week, I realized that it's not about how intelligent you are if you are a teacher. It's all about how you deal with kids to get their attention and have them listen to you in your discussion.
