Experiencing the Real World of Teaching.

APPROVAL SHEET

INTRODUCTION

Hi, welcome to my E-portfolio. I am Maidy, and I was born on October 18, 1999 in Ormoc City, Leyte. I am 22 years old. I am Marylin and Landy Respuesto's, daughter. I am the eldest, and I have two siblings. I am in my fourth year at Visayas State University, Baybay Leyte, pursuing a Bachelor of Elementary Education major in General Education.

The practice teaching is the highlight and most exciting part for 4th year students who took up Education course. It is a component of the teaching curriculum's learning course that provides prospective teachers with the opportunity to experience real life of teaching. A student teacher's e-portfolio is a collection of their original work. This portfolio is the requirement for PrEd 200, and it reflects, relates, and describes the teacher's responsibilities, knowledge, and professional development. My e-portfolio contains:

  • My teaching philosophy.

  • Reflection on the seven areas of PPST.

  • My weekly journal during my teaching internship.

  • My practice teaching experience.

The purpose in sharing my e-portfolio is to display the qualities that make me a valuable educator.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the people behind this success and who helped me in my journey in the completion of this e-portfolio and to those people who became part of my college life.

First of all, I want to thank our Almighty God for guiding me throughout my teaching internship journey, to accomplish all the tasks, and who gives me the strength not to give up when I want to give up, giving me patience to understand my students when I don’t have it and giving me an opportunity every day to teach new lessons to my students and mold my students.

To my parents, who support me every step of the way, for not giving up on me when I’m about to give up because of the challenges that I encounter. Thank you for always understanding me and motivating me. Thank you for all your support especially financially and thank you for believing in me that I can, when I don’t believe in myself. Thank you for all the love and support.

To the special person, thank you for always there to support me and for believing in me. Thank you for always reminding me of the reason why I am here today. Thank you for all the words of wisdom that enlightened me every day.

To my cooperating teacher, Mrs. Catherine Masias, no words can express how thankful I am to be with you during my field study until my teaching internship. Thank you for mentoring me throughout my teaching internship journey. My journey would not be meaningful without you. Thank you for believing in me, motivating me, and telling me that I am ready to have my own classroom. Thank you for always being there when no one is with me. You are not just my cooperating teacher but also a sister who guided me every step of the way.

To my cooperating school, thank you for believing in my abilities and capabilities in teaching your school and handling your young learners. Your school has been a big help for me in molding me into who I am today and your school helps me boost my confidence.

To our college Dean, also my supervisor Dr. Bayron S. Barredo, no words can thank you enough for being with us from day 1 until now. Thank you for motivating us. Even if you don’t show it, you are the reason we work hard from the beginning until the end. Thank you for molding us into who we are today. Our life as a student teacher is like a roller coaster, but you are always there for us, willing to help us. Thank you for guiding us on the right path.

And lastly, to my board mates who are also my classmates, life isn’t easy without you. Thank you for always being there through happy moments and sad moments. I know we struggle a lot, but we can cope with everything because each one of us is there in times of hardship. Thank you for the sleepless nights. Thank you for being one call away when I need someone to talk to. Thank you for always being ready to answer my clarification when I don’t understand. Thank you for being part of my college life.

Once again, I appreciate all the people behind my accomplishments in my journey who encourage me, who motivate me, who believes in me and who extend their patience, understanding, and support. Thank you!

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

MY TEACHING INTERNSHIP PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the things I need, like food and a place to live. I'm sorry for making mistakes every day. Bless me and lead me as I start my internship to become a teacher.

Thank you for giving me this chance to teach young learners. Thank you for being part of these young students' lives. Help me become a better teacher for my students by keeping the peace in our classroom, between my students, myself, and my cooperating teacher, and by being kind and gentle to each and every one of my students. Without your help and direction, I will never be a good teacher. I pray that you will give me the wisdom and patience to teach my young students what they need to know.

Always keep reminding me why I'm working in this field. To teach, shape the lives of my students, and serve you. Lord, show me how to be patient when I'm about to give up and need a lot of it. Fill my heart and body with the strength you need to stay with them, even when they are the hardest to love. Please give me more patience so I can teach slow learners. Give me the energy to deal with every type of learner every day. Let me be the person they need. Let me be the person they can trust when they need it. If they need to be taught a lesson, give me the power to lead them with love.

I know because I'm just starting in this field, and I still have a lot to learn. With this, I ask you to give me a humble heart so I can admit my mistakes and a brave spirit to do what I need to do. Lead me every step of the way, bless me, and show me what I need to do.

It always reminds me to think about my students' well-being. Make me the one who teaches them and also learns alongside them. Let me show my students love and hope so that I can make a positive difference in their lives. In light of this, I pray that the Lord will give me the desire to try new things, share new ideas, and lead with new morals and lessons to think about. I know I'm far from perfect, but I can do everything with you because I know nothing is impossible. You are always there to help me turn my weaknesses into strengths. This I ask in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
