MARKSMANSHIP
Precision is Key...
What Do We Do?
Safety:
First and foremost, Air Rifle Marksmanship is one of the safest olympic sports due to the common practice of firearm safety handling. The first thing we teach new members of the air rifle team is safety regulations. We treat air rifles with laborious caution, meaning all members will leave with the important knowledge of how to safely manage any firearm. Before every shooting competition, there are always safety briefs given by the instructors to remind competitors of the safety and rules of the sport, as shown in the image shown above.
Marksmanship:
The meat and 'taters of the sport if of course the shooting itself. Whether it becomes a hobby, a professional career, or simply a wellspring of memories, cadets in Air Rifle leave with the ability to use approaches in marksmanship applicable to everyday life, from breathing techniques to stronger biceps.
Competition:
Marksmanship is a high-intensity sport that requires an impeccable measure of still; Members are given the opportunity to compete with other schools across the nation for glory and prestige, all while making new friends along the way. Whether they do or not, however, they leave with the ability to maintain calm even as the storm inches closer.
Founding:
The Civilian Marksmanship Program (or CMP) is a U.S. government-chartered program intended to promote firearm safety training and rifle practice for all qualified U.S. citizens with a specific emphasis on youth. Reseda Charter High School is one of many sponsored by this program
Practices:
Practices include shooting in the morning and reviewing those shots with our SNSI to further improve the next day. Practices are every day in the morning from 7:15 am to 8:15 am
