CYBERPATRIOT
Protecting our country, one server at a time...
What Do We Do?
Cybersecurity:
The axiom of CyberPatriot lies in the heart of cybersecurity. Members learn to put their programming skills to the test by defending servers to prevent hackers from accessing their hardware. Cybersecurity is a career in high demand, and CyberPatriot allows members to access the plethora of information that could boost the success of such a career choice.
Competition:
Members are offered the ability to compete against other schools and CyberPatriot teams, forming bonds with their compatriots and fellow team members, as well as opening the gate to networking opportunities for those passionate about cybersecurity.
Members are also very well exposed in Capture the Flags (CTFs) where they use skills such as cryptography, forensics, scanning, and log analysis. Understanding how real life hackers exploit computers and how to analyze and secure them afterwards.
Founding:
CyberPatriot is a national youth cyber education program created in the United States to help direct students toward careers in cybersecurity or other computer, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. The program was created by the Air Force Association (AFA), which sponsors the program housed here at Reseda Charter High School.
Practices:
Practices are every Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
