Based on current regulations, our district will open Tuesday, Sept 8 in the hybrid model.
Health and Safety Screenings:
It is recommended to parents to take your child’s temperature daily. If 100 degrees or more, they are not to attend school and will not return to school until the fever is gone without medicine and they have received a negative COVID-19 test result.
Students will have temperature checks each day as they enter the bus or as they exit their vehicles at school. Any student with a temperature of 100 degrees or over will not be allowed to enter the bus or school and must be kept home until they are symptom free without medicine AND they have received a documented doctor’s note to return to school OR have documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result.
Students/Families will answer health screening questionnaires periodically.
Staff and visitors will have their temperatures taken and will have to fill out a health screening questionnaire daily. If 100 degrees or more, they will be sent home and will not return to school until the fever is gone without medicine and they have received a negative COVID-19 test result or a documented doctor's note to return.
Face Coverings:
All students and staff members are expected to wear face coverings as much as possible for the safety of all, but MUST wear face coverings at all times when they are or can expect to be within 6 feet of someone including but not limited to on school buses and when not in their socially distanced classroom seat.
Three cloth face coverings will be provided to each student and employee at the beginning of the year and students/families are responsible for their cleaning and upkeep.
Disposable face coverings will be available should they forget to bring their own.
Students are allowed to wear their own personal face coverings as long as they are school appropriate.
In the event that a student cannot wear a face mask for medical reasons, this will be screened and approved by the school nurse (parent must provide medical documentation).
Teachers and students will receive training on the appropriate way to wear and clean their face covering.
Hand Hygiene:
All students and staff will be instructed on proper hand washing techniques and encouraged to do so several times throughout the school day.
Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the school and in all classrooms.
Water:
Parents are encouraged to send their student with a clean water bottle on a daily basis (could be a full plastic bottle). Drinking fountains are available and will be cleaned regularly as directed by the DOH, but having your own water bottle is the safest for all children.
Illness:
In the event that a student or teacher has been exposed or diagnosed with COVID-19, that classroom and possibly a larger group may become virtual at any time in order to ensure the safety of all persons involved.
Should a person be suspected of having COVID-19 or have a positive test public health will be contacted and all those who were in contact will be notified as directed by public health.
Each situation will be investigated and a decision will be made to either transition that particular classroom or a larger section of the building to virtual learning.
This will allow flexibility in allowing the needed quarantine time while continuing to meet the academic needs of students.
All decisions involving positive COVID-19 results will be made in consultation with and based on the recommendations of Public Health.
