Based on current regulations, our district will open Tuesday, Sept 8 in the hybrid model.
Good Day and thank you for visiting our reopening information center,
In mid-July, the New York State Education Department and the New York State Health Department provided school districts across the state with guidelines for reopening schools in September 2020. After careful review of these guidelines and meetings with our internal task-force, the LaFargeville Central School District has developed plans to support student learning while meeting these guidelines. These plans allow for flexibility and adaptability in addressing the health and safety needs and concerns of our school community. Updates will be posted on this website and announced via our district website, Facebook page, and/or automated phone messaging system.
Our task-force took all guidance into account, but held the following as our guiding principles:
All required aspects of the DOH, CDC, and NYSED guidance must be met to ensure health and safety for all.
In-Person instruction is important for all students.
Any model that does not include full day, every day instruction creates significant hardship for our parents, students, and staff.
Our neediest students (elementary age and students with disabilities) will receive as much in-person instruction as possible.
Best practices for the safety of our students and staff include, but are not limited to: wearing masks, social distancing, keeping students in cohorts (with the same group of students), hand washing/sanitizing, and disinfecting as much as possible.
At any point feel free to email me with your questions and concerns at thoover@lafargevillecsd.org.
Respectfully,
Mr. Hoover
