This site is a collection of beginner guides and resources for new players.
It is NOT a wiki (sorry, I know the URL says wiki). The Miraheze Wiki is where you should go for ingame information.
In the Handbook you can find:
Information about the game, its origin, its different servers, and more
How to make a great starter account, using the easy way (1 account) or hard way (rerolling)
Information about various beginner units and limited units
Battle strategy, Gear farming strategy, Unit building tips
Hunt Guides for the most important Hunts (Red, Blue, Yellow)
Full Virtual Reality guide including tips for difficult floors
...And more

The handbook originally started in February of 2025 as a rerolling guide in a Google Docs page. It was created to help newbies make a strong starter account using the Limited Combo recruit banner.
A fresh Alt Account was created to test and verify the rerolling guide. This account was also used to redo and verify all beginner content.
Soon, the docs started hosting more content, such as unit recommendations, gear farming tips, and a dictionary of terms.
However, linking specific parts of the Docs using a link was difficult. On March 2025, the guide was officially moved into the Handbook, hosted on Google Sites.
After that, content in the Handbook was steadily expanded and improved. Almost none of the original text remain in today's version, including the original Rerolling Guide which was completely revamped in May 2025.
The Handbook also prides itself in its accuracy - every guide hosted here has been personally tested and verified by the author. The original Alt Account, created with the Google Docs guide, remains a completely F2P neutral testing account.
The alt was also used to test PvP as an F2P player's perspective. The account achieved Gold rank in 36 days.

And following a few busy weeks without any progress, Master rank was achieved in 121 days after about 3 weeks of active rank grind.

On August 26, 2025, Recode launched a Steam version, which was linked to the Nutaku server. While the Handbook was always exclusively an Erolabs-only guide, it was edited to include a few Steam-specific information to help the influx of new players.
On September 3, 2025, a major content update was released which massively expanded the free rewards available for new accounts. To test the full effect of the update on the recommended newbie guides, a third alt account was launched. The testing is still ongoing.
The author started playing Ark Recode in April 2024. They reached Victor rank in February 2025, which was the motivation behind the creation of the Handbook. Being able to achieve the highest rank in Arena was the necessary self-affirmation needed to be able to confidently guide and advise new players.
