I am a humanities librarian with a background in literature, history, and the history of the book. My research focuses on the relationship between readers, text, and the archive, with particular emphasis on the archival practices and afterlives of nineteenth-century polar expeditions. In my classes, I prioritize discussion and reflection on the ways in which libraries facilitate, mediate, and condition access to information, and the role of the librarian in helping library users to encounter information in a thoughtful, sensitive, and ethical manner.
