Uploaded on the 24th May 2020. Picture supplied by James Hope. It is believed that this photograph of Mill Road featured within a calendar. Anybody know when? (Electric square is seen in the photo so that puts it after 1968)

This similar view from c1908 - has people on the bridge in the foreground. Two blocks have been built in Station Road. (Numbers 50, 52,54 and 56)
From the Charlie Todd Collection. The publication of this photograph was Inspired by yesterday's (8th May 2020) grass cutting session, (by the Community Council and volunteers undertaken during the Covid-19 lockdown) here we have a photograph by Nisbet Lawrie of Mill Road's 'Electric' houses. Wonderful to see these houses looking as fresh as a daisy when new. We believe they were built in 1967 / 68 to replace the 'prefabs' which were post-WW2 in construction. Please let us know if you have any information on their original 'futuristic' all electric heating system. It wasn't terribly successful and was replaced with 'white meter' (off-peak) storage heaters inside a few years.
