 This view, c1902 of the area around Thankerton Mill shows that the left hand cottage is single storey and thatched, the right hand one​slated and the Mill has its barns at the back.

 This similar view from c1908 - has people on the bridge in the foreground. Two blocks have been built in Station Road. (Numbers 50, 52,​54 and 56)
