The "Tornado Wrangler" is one of my favorites, not for its durability but its design and style. Yet just like the "TITUS" this vehicle is only used to film the movie "Twisters". This truck came from the movie "Twister" in 1996. However, this vehicle would never be used to intercept tornadoes in real life. The only thing in this vehicle that somewhat allows it to not fly around is the "augers," which look like drills that penetrate deep into the earth to secure and stabilize the Tornado Wrangler. This movie got me into the whole storm chasing hobby. And yes, this does have a deploying system.
These aren't the type of airbags that pop out in front of you to save your life . These airbags lower the truck to the ground to stabilize it more securely.
Many tornado interceptors have these things called spikes which penetrate deep into the soil to prevent the vehicle from being lifted. Instead the Tornado Wrangler uses a different but creative option, they use an auger.
