The airbags are the first stage of the deployment system. These aren't the airbags as you might expect that pop out of the wheel but actually lower the TIV 2 to reduce winds going under the truck.

FLAPS
No, the TIV 2 does not grow wings and flap it's wings. However, the flaps are the armor plates on the side and front of the vehicle that are lower to the ground to secure the winds from going under the TIV 2.
SPIKES
SPIKES
There are hydraulic spikes on the side of the TIV 2 that poke deep into the ground to stabilize the vehicle while in strong winds. Especially during tornado intercepts.
STATISTICS
One of the key factors of the TIV 2 is the deployment. The TIV 2 is used for intercepting tornadoes with wind speeds up to 250mph wind speeds. Crazy right? There are other interesting factors of the TIV 2 that make it special. This includes how fast it can adjust and drive, how it really is tornado-proof, and even more.
The TIV 2 can drive over 100mph.
It deploys in less than twenty seconds.
The glass and windows are made from polycarbonate sheets, which act as a bulletproof form of glass to withstand flying debris.
The metal is made from 1/8-inch steel plating welded over a 2-inch square steel frame.
It has an aerodynamic shape that can easily resist strong winds.
It has unique features like the turret, which is used to capture important footage and data.
It has data-tracking devices or probes that capture useful information about the tornado, which can also be used to notify the NWS.
There are speakers on the front of the vehicle that play tornado sirens in less populated areas to warn residents.
There are extra lights to easily chase or see in dangerous nights with harmful tornadoes.
