The TVN Video Probe was first deployed on May, 29, 2008, in northen Kansas. This deployment captured high defention video footage from inside a tornado. There are two main function and freatures for the probe. This probe has a camera mounted to the top under a glass dome to capture important footage inside a tornadoes funnel.
The probe also has a anemometer to record wind speeds within a tornadoes funnel to determine how strong this tornado can be based on the F-Scale. However the exact date where this probe was made is not specifically stated. What is interesting is that Reed Timmer is the person who created this probe, to use it alongside his Dominator 1.
However this probe is no longer in use ever since around 2010, and 2011. Suprisingly, this probe is very aerodynamic, which is the reason why this probe did not get lofted inside the funnel. Click here to access the video.
