Multisensory experience has always been a recurrent theme explored by new media artists. In recent years, the creation of multisensory experiences has become more accessible with the development of open-source and maker cultures. With the current trend of Arts Tech, artists have been more actively exploring the use of technology and new materials to create interactive multisensory experiences, deepening artistic expression. Meanwhile, multisensory experiences have also opened up possibilities for more people with disabilities (PWDs) to appreciate and participate in new media art, allowing works to embody artistic concepts through visual, auditory and tactile signals, and interact with people of different abilities, achieving art inclusiveness.
Arts Tech may be intimidating for some, sounding unattainable or requiring professional teams and resources, but this project and exhibition aim to demonstrate that Arts Tech can be achieved at a personal level, in which artistic sense, curiosity, creativity and experimentation are the key elements.
