Lacking any actual superheroes, the Atom proved himself to be one "Mighty Mite" indeed, busting rackets and clocking criminals with the best of 'em. He was a founding member of the JSA and a stalwart defender of justice throughout a long, illustrious career. According to Wikipedia:

"Ted Knight has no natural superhuman powers. His abilities stem from the use of his inventions, the gravity rod and the cosmic rod. These devices channel an unknown form of stellar radiation which Ted is able to manipulate through the rod. As Starman, he possesses the ability to fly, project bursts of stellar energy, light, and heat, create force fields and simple energy constructs, and levitate objects. Extended use of the cosmic rod created a bond between it and Ted, allowing him to mentally summon the rod when separated from it."

"In 1948, the Atom gained super strength as a result of the latent effects of his 1942 battle with the reluctant supervillain Cyclotron (after whose costume Pratt redesigned his own). After being exposed to Cyclotron's energies, Al Pratt possessed radioactive energy focused into a punch...superhuman stamina, enhanced speed, and enhanced durability. He became invulnerable to forms of radiation. He also gained incredible youth and vitality after the battle with Ian Karkull."

"Pratt's last Golden Age appearance was in All Star Comics #57 in 1951, also the last Golden Age Justice Society story. Later it was revealed that a special Senate investigation panel had moved to obtain the identities of all active superheroes, at which point virtually all members of the Justice Society retired."

The model I've designed is patterned directly from the cover above featuring one of The Atom's early appearances.. However, I have also included parts to allow you to build him in his redesigned costume from later issues..
