Exhibit 8

Background Information:

I created a similar image during my beginning Photoshop class. The first image I made I used my professors' faces at Davis Technical College. This image is of my brother's family and his four children. After creating (just about) the same image I developed techniques and strategies to help make this image more efficient and of higher quality. It also took me a fraction of the time to compose this second work. I have found that the more experience and work that is put into learning the software the more easily things come back to you so the work can go on rapidly.

Design Thoughts:

  • One main goal that was achieved by creating this work was to demonstrate skills for blending different layers.

  • Focus: The family is centered around a circle which allows the eyes to move around in a circle like manner.

  • Balance: The family centers the image and brings it balance.

  • Effects: I have made the faces match their background.

Photoshop:

  • Each character's face has been placed on its own different layer.

  • The masks were added prior to adding faces to the primary image.

  • Healing brush and the stamp tools were used on the background.
