My name is Reese Tsubota and I am currently a master's student here at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. I previously graduated at the same university with a BS in Microbiology where I worked in a Microbiome/Ecology Lab for a couple of years and then volunteered within the Prisic Group. I am currently investigating the role of the PE20 and PPE31 proteins in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and their role in surviving in necrotic granulomas and macrophage phagocytosis.
Outside of school I enjoy playing with my dog, playing golf, and watching sports.
