Congratulation Allexa, Goodbye Gino!

(2021-08-13)

Today, the lab celebrated Allaxa's PhD (Prisic's group first!) and wished Gino good luck in his grad school at JABSOM. Sadly, due to the COVID numbers going up fast (1167 - the highest since the pandemic started!), we had a "zoom party" instead of meeting in person. Allexa and Jayna were sharing their paintings, sweaters and cute animals they made, and Gino looked back to his 1.5 years in the lab.

Leah and Ariana showcased their research

(2021-07-30)

Ariana and Leah, two summer interns from the University of Richmond, gave a presentation named "Deletion of Alternative ribosomal proteins in Mycobacterium smegmatis" at the 4th Annual Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Symposium. Beginning of the end (of this pandemic)

(2021-01-16)

Today, there was the first round of COVID-19 vaccination at the Mānoa campus. Sladjana got her shot and hopes that others will do the same, so we can finally beat this virus.  (Pictures were not allowed, but she managed to take a picture of the poster at the entrance). Let's be grateful to all the scientists, health professionals, and policy makers for this great achievement!

Brandi Antonio - MS in Microbiology

(2020-12-18)

Brandi, pictured here on the LSB lanai on her last day as a graduate student, earned her MS degree in Microbiology and is leaving the Prisic lab.  Since we had to cancel our party today (due to COVID-19), we hope to see her come back to properly celebrate sometimes soon. Congratulations, Brandi!

Jayna is now a grad student

(2020-8-24)

After graduating in May and working as a lab tach during the summer to help us move, Jayna is officially starting her MS study in Prisic Lab. (And, no, she will not do her research at the beach. She is assigned a different kind of bench in the lab. Sorry, Jayna!)

We moved to the Life Sciences Building (LSB)

(2020-7-29)

Moving the lab was hard, but exciting! We are at the very corner of the building, as shown on the picture. Our new space has the central area plus two procedure rooms, "chemical" room, and "instrument" room. "Fish room" on the 1st floor, just next to BIOL and MICR teaching labs.

Three of our lab members graduated today! Congratulations! (2020-5-16)
