I began my career as an elementary teacher. Because of this, I recognize the importance of collaboration and support from the Library Media Program. I work to support all grade levels/subject areas. When the Health Academy came to me for research, I noticed we lacked books related to health occupations. I bought some. Air Force JROTC cadets needed to earn their Rocketry Badge. We now do a combined research and rocketry unit. ELL students needed support in acquiring language and scaffolding to show mastery. I activated their Learning Ally accounts, taught them how to use it, and offered the teacher the option of letting the students use iMovie to create visual book reports. The ELA department needed creative ideas to keep students engaged after the FSA assessment. I have worked with all who asked to find class novel sets that also are found on Learning Ally so all students are accommodated while reading interesting, relevant novels. Below are examples of correspondence that show the instructional partnership that the Media Center has with all staff at Pine Ridge High.
