Understanding the Impact of Using Primary Sources to Develop ESL Competencies and Researching Skills: Leaping Through the Library of Congress Online Collections
This workshop is designed to provide participants a detailed orientation of PR-LEAPS Project goals, objectives, and expected outcomes; meet the project facilitators; discuss Project’s curriculum and syllabi; and fill out all agreement and consent forms. After the Project’s orientation, participants will engage in understanding what impact using primary sources has on teaching practices in the classroom to develop students’ language competencies and researching skills. The workshop will allow participants to explore the Library of Congress online primary sources collection and learn how to access the numerous sources integrating and aligning English and Social Studies curricula.
