Land Ownership in the Popo Agie Conservation District is categorized by Federal, State, Private, and Other; total acreage is 2,548,580. The portion of the District under federal jurisdiction, including Bureau of Land Management, U.S.D.A. Forest Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Bureau of Reclamation accounts for roughly 75 percent of the total land area. State lands encompass six percent of the land area within PACD boundaries including Wyoming Game and Fish properties, public schools, state parks, cultural resources, historic sites, and state forestry.
