Irrigation Conveyance

ALL COST SHARE PROJECTS MUST DEMONSTRATE PUBLIC BENEFIT

 Objectives

The intent of the Irrigation Water Management Program is to provide cost-share opportunities to ditch groups/companies to improve their irrigation water delivery systems.  The purpose of this program is to:

Conserve irrigation water

Reduce soil erosion

Improve water quality

Improve efficiency

This program is not designed for repairs and/or maintenance normally expected.  It is designed to improve systems, not maintain them in the same condition.

The District Board of Supervisors will review each application and determine a maximum total cost allowed for cost-share assistance, based on needs and budget allowance.

The District will provide the applicant financial cost-share assistance.  The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will provide technical assistance.

Funding Level

This incentive program provides reimbursement of the project cost based on NRCS payment schedule.  All projects must be pre-approved before being initiated and must be evaluated upon completion.

Only one grant may be awarded per cooperator per fiscal year.

Reimbursement will be made following practice completion and certification that NRCS specs have been met.

Eligibility

Ditch groups/companies within the Popo Agie Conservation District boundaries.

 Selection Process

Project selection and payment decisions will be made by the Popo Agie Conservation District Board of Supervisors. It is the  responsibility of the applicant to make the case that the project meets the goals of the program.  Applications are reviewed on an annual basis.
