The Psions are a unique race with distinctive physical and mental characteristics. As descendants of human stock, they bear a striking resemblance to humans, which allows them to easily pass as such. However, they may possess some marked differences in their hair color and eye color, serving as subtle indicators of their Psionic abilities.
Physical Description: Psions are generally less physically imposing than the average human. They tend to have a slender and elegant build, which often makes them seem more delicate compared to humans. Their skin tone can vary, but it is typically within the human range. The most noticeable differences are in their hair and eye colors. Psions may have unusual and striking hair and eye colors, such as silver, lavender, or vibrant shades of blue or green. These characteristics, while beautiful, set them apart from regular humans. This uniqueness is a result of their Psionic abilities and is a point of pride within their culture.
Social and Interpersonal Aspects: The Psions place a significant emphasis on mental prowess, and their society reflects this focus. They have a deep respect for intelligence and cognitive abilities, valuing wisdom and knowledge above physical strength. Their social structure is often organized around intellectual hierarchies, where those with exceptional Psionic abilities are held in high regard.
Psions take great pride in their psionic talents, and they invest a considerable amount of time in honing their mental abilities. Telepathy, telekinesis, precognition, and other Psionic powers are highly valued, and individuals with exceptional abilities are often revered as leaders and mentors within their communities.
Psion society encourages cooperation and collaboration, as their mental abilities can be more potent when combined. They share a strong sense of unity and empathy among their kind. This unity, however, doesn't make them completely immune to internal disputes and conflicts, but their emphasis on mental pursuits often leads to peaceful resolutions to most issues.
Political Mindset: In Psion society, political power is usually vested in those who exhibit the greatest mental prowess, particularly in the use of Psionic abilities. Leadership roles are often filled by individuals who have demonstrated exceptional telepathic or telekinetic skills, as they are seen as being best equipped to guide their people.
The Psions are known for their thoughtful and diplomatic approach to politics. They tend to seek peaceful solutions and are reluctant to engage in physical conflict. Their leaders are often chosen based on their ability to mediate disputes, make wise decisions, and foresee potential issues through their precognitive abilities.

Their unity, driven by their common Psionic abilities, is a defining characteristic of their culture. Sometimes, they are distrusted for their psionic ability.
Individuals (player characters) of this race have basic psychic training as part of their upbringing, and they possess psychic talent enhancement. They also have formalized instruction with a chosen psionic control skill (Detection, Manipulation, or Transformation) at character generation and receive the Literacy talent at the start. Finally, members of this race receive a free skill of choice, though most choose Psicraft or Meditation, although this is not mandated.
Psions can interbreed with humans, half-elves, half-ogres, and halflings to produce viable offspring. Psions cannot reproduce young with Dwarves, Gnomes, or Wingfolk; their genetic structure is simply not compatible. Psions are perhaps a universal stock and have been known to produce viable offspring copulating with various monsters, especially those that possess psionic ability. Though not common, these hybrids are often created for varying purposes. Offspring often have an elevated chance to possess psionic ability.
