Physical Description: Half-Orcs are imposing figures, standing between six and seven feet tall, with sturdy builds that usually range from 190 to 300 pounds. Their physical characteristics are a distinctive blend of human and orcish traits. They have skin tones that typically range from greenish to brown, often showing a slight tinge of both colors. Their faces are defined by jutting jaws and prominent teeth, with sharp canines that hint at their orcish heritage. Coarse body hair covers their arms and legs and sometimes patches their faces, further distinguishing them from pure humans.
Half-Orcs may have scars or other markings from their harsh life experiences, such as wounds sustained in battles, slave labor, or other trials they've faced. Tattoos, piercings, or tribal markings may also be present, serving as symbols of their identity or indicating their alignment with a particular group.
Female Half-Orcs exhibit a distinctive feature in their "Curtavious" bodies, characterized by robust, childbearing aspects. These features include wide hips, pronounced curves, and muscular builds that underscore their physical resilience. This attribute can be a source of both pride and vulnerability for them, as it may draw attention from others.
Social and Interpersonal Traits: Half-Orcs' social and interpersonal traits are as diverse as their appearances, influenced by their backgrounds and personal choices. Here are some common characteristics and approaches they may adopt:
1. Adaptability: Many Half-Orcs strive to adapt to the societies they find themselves in, particularly when living among humans. They often adopt human names to fit in better and mitigate any prejudices against their orcish heritage. This adaptability can make them skilled at navigating diverse social settings.
2. Resilience: Given their often tumultuous upbringing, Half-Orcs tend to be exceptionally resilient individuals. They have endured hardship, whether as raiding party captives or slaves, which has shaped their mental and physical toughness.
3. Ambiguity: Half-Orcs often find themselves living in a gray area between human and orc societies. This ambiguity can lead to identity struggles as they attempt to reconcile their dual heritage. Some embrace their orcish side, while others work hard to distance themselves from it.
4. Struggle for Acceptance: The quest for acceptance among humans is a common theme in the lives of Half-Orcs. Some may demonstrate public virtue to prove their worth, while others resort to physical intimidation to gain respect. How they choose to pursue acceptance can vary greatly.
5. Varied Alignments: Despite common societal stereotypes, Half-Orcs are not bound by a specific alignment. They can be good, evil, or neutral, much like any other individual. Their alignment is shaped more by personal experiences and choices than their heritage.
6. Strength and Constitution: Half-Orcs typically have higher physical attributes, excelling in strength and constitution. These physical strengths can be a significant asset in various occupations, including roles as warriors, laborers, or adventurers.
In summary, Half-Orcs are a complex and diverse people whose physical appearance and social traits are shaped by their hybrid nature and the challenges they face in a world that often misunderstands or stigmatizes them. They are individuals who, like anyone else, aspire to find their place in the world and build meaningful connections with others while navigating the complexities of their heritage.
Due to their orcish blood, Half-Orcs are on poor terms with some of the other races. Relations are particularly troubled with elves and dwarves, due to racial enmity between Orcs and these races. One cannot say that it is impossible for a Half-Orc to find camaraderie with an elf or a dwarf. Dwarves in particular are willing to befriend Half-Orcs who have proven themselves worthy of a dwarf's trust. Half-elves tend to be sympathetic toward Half-Orcs, knowing the hardships of being an outcast from both of their parent races. Halflings and gnomes are generally accepting of Half-Orcs and interact with them if they behave themselves.
Half-Orcs have no native lands; they most often live among Orcs. When not living among Orc tribes, Half-Orcs almost always live in human lands, as humans are more accepting of Half-Orcs than other races. Half-Orcs are frequently rejected by civilized society. They are drawn to violent careers suitable to their temperament and physical strength. They often find companionship among adventurers, many of whom are fellow wanderers and outsiders.
