Jumping off the ramps at the highest point actually wastes time. By not jumping you get a smaller angle which allows you to land faster. 

Some ramps in this level are possible to skip. The first ramp after the second cave can be skipped saving about a second of time. To pull this off you do a jump at the the very edge of the ice. You can make it to the other side of the gap effectively skipping the ramp entirely.
