Frank Gideon was a private detective whose life was forever changed when he took a case from Professor Wilbur Hammington at Falcraft University. He was hired to recover scrolls stolen from the university museum. Frank discovered the scrolls had been taken by a cult called The Order of the Crescent Moon, who believed it detailed a ceremony which would allow their high priest to become the avatar of the demon they worship, Darkmoon. Interrupting the ceremony, Frank was inadvertently bonded to the demon instead and it slowly started taking possession of his body. Feeling responsible for his plight, Hammington tries to help Frank sever his connection to Darkmoon while the Order seeks to prevent that from happening so their demon Lord can walk the Earth freely once more.
