🌸 The Arts Garden Party at Helix Court

On September 25th, the lush Helix Court will open its gates for a one-day celebration of beauty and connection-- sponsored by none other than Philibert Courtemanche of Volatus, a renowned chef and generous patron of the arts. While the event canonically takes place on September 25th, players will have until October 10th to submit their entries for the prompts below.

RPs may continue past the end date and still be eligible for the event bonus, but late Dimensional Rose entries will not be eligible for the draw. We understand that this window is pretty small, but we want to make sure we have plenty of time for spooky Halloween fun 👀

The Arts Garden

The Arts Garden in the middle district feels like a sanctuary, carefully maintained by the Erebus Department of Aesthetics. Stone pathways wind through neat rows of flowers and trimmed greenery, soft moss creeping at their edges. Iron pagodas arch overhead, strung with faerie lights that glow like tiny stars as evening approaches. The sound of fountains and quiet music drifts through the air, dancing with laughter and conversation.

Crowds move easily through the space, enjoying the free event. A caricature artist works beneath a canopy, sketching portraits while onlookers watch. Tucked deep within the garden lies a patch of velvety purple Dimensional Roses, their petals dark and lush, drawing the curious down the stone paths to see them.

🎨 Caricature Artist

An artist has set up shop in the park, and she's offering exaggerated caricature portraits.

Prompt: Draw, write, or RP your character getting their caricature made, or the actual caricature itself. You’re welcome to pair up with another player and get a joint portrait, or even collaborate with another artist/writer for extra fun. No prizes for this one, just a challenge and maybe a slightly embarrassing portrait to take home.

Dimensional Rose Caretaker

🌹 Pick Your Own Dimensional Rose

Deep within Helix Court lies a shimmering field of Dimensional Roses-- gorgeous petals of velvety, deep purple. Each guest may choose just one rose to take home, and the caretaker for the roses watches the attendees carefully to ensure that only one is picked. It's said that these roses only grow where there is a high concentration of ultra-energy, making them quite rare.

Rumor has it that within a week of being picked, most will wilt, petals fading into an inky black. One singular rose may instead transform into a golden bloom that glows faintly as if imbued with sunlight. Whoever holds that rose may find themselves the unexpected winner of a small fortune.

Prompt: Write, draw, or RP your character’s experience choosing their rose. On October 10th, one participant will be selected as the lucky winner.

🥂 Mixer at Helix Court

What’s a garden party without mingling? To encourage connection, guests are given four “challenges” to complete while socializing. The challenges will be assigned individually, so everyone will have a different set to complete!

Here are some examples of the type of prompts you may expect to receive:

- Meet someone from Virus.
- Chat with another guest about a vacation you’ve always dreamed of.
- Offer someone a compliment they weren’t expecting.
- Share a drink or snack with someone you’ve just met.

If you would like to sign up, send a DM to Naut (@nautcious) stating your intent to join as well as the character you wish to sign up.

Challenges will be handed out once there are at least four participants!

Prompt: RP or depict your character attempting at least two of these social challenges during the event. Anyone who completes and submits two or more will receive a commemorative event pin!

The pin doesn't do anything, but it's a nice memory to have :)

🥐 Philibert’s Masterwork Pastry

Of course, no celebration hosted by Volatus’ own Philibert Courtemanche would be complete without something from his kitchen. This year, he unveils a pastry made exclusively for Helix Court’s guests.

✨ Gilded Rose Tartlet; a crisp tart shell filled with rosewater cream, topped with a single candied dimensional rose petal brushed in edible gold.

Every guest may enjoy one pastry for free to commemorate the event. This isn't a prompt as much as it is flavor text for your own devices, so with it what you will!
