CHARACTER CREATION

Written Application Guidelines

• There is instructional text on the written template... Please delete all of that before you submit your application. It is there for your convenience, and we don't want to read it. 

• Your character should not be good at everything and the strongest in the world-- otherwise known as a mary sue or gary sue. A well balanced character will have their strengths, but they also need faults to equal it all out. 

• Mental health, disabilities, and medical conditions should be thoroughly researched and well understood before you ever assign them to a character. These can be pretty serious topics, and we don't want any harmful misrepresentation of them. 

• Try to avoid making 'self insert' type characters. Relating to your characters is absolutely fine, but you must be able to separate yourself from them. These types of characters tend to cause problems during IC interactions should their owners take anything to heart. 

• 🆕  When writing about your transgender or non-gender conforming character in their application, you may reference their pre-transition identity or pronouns if it is important to their story. However, this should be handled with care and respect, and we ask that you avoid it when possible. Everyone’s experience with transness is different, and certain depictions may be uncomfortable or upsetting for others to read. If you do include this, please make sure it is contextually relevant and presented thoughtfully, rather than treating correct pronouns as something that must be "earned" in the narrative.

• 🆕 We have a list of careers! Careers are a core part of participating in this group, and choosing one from our approved list is required to access career mechanics and most group activities. If you select something outside the listed careers, we will assign it to the category that fits best. We’re always open to expanding the list if something feels missing-- just reach out so we can work with you to make it official. Ignoring this system will limit your ability to fully participate.

DESIGN NOTES & CONSIDERATION

• If your character absolutely must have exaggerated proportions, particularly with huge amounts of muscle mass or a lack thereof, there must be an explanation involving the reason why or the lifestyle that attributes to their appearance.

• Characters over 7'0" (213.36 cm) may have complications involving their height, such as fitting through most door frames and even just fitting in ships. If your character must be over this height, it must be addressed either in the history or in the 'extras' section that they are aware of how tall they are compared to everything else. We would like to avoid any characters over 7'5" (226.06 cm.) Your characters' height does not include their tails length.

• Absolutely NO "they look 10 but they're actually 25 uwu" type characters will be allowed under any circumstance. If your character looks like a child, it is a child. End of story.

• Characters must be at least 18 years old, or older. Younger characters can be considered/created as NPCs, and must be accompanied by an adult. Don't be weird.

You allow legendary, mythical, UBs, paradoxes, mega evolutions, AND shinies??

YES, we allow ALL of those things, but they're purely for design purposes only. 

• Legendaries and mythics are not special. Some are connected with deities, your character can be an Arceus, but they are not a god. If it just so happens that said deity was an Arceus, it's species was a pure coincidence. 

• Mega evolutions are a PERMANANT stage. You can buy a megastone in our shop which can be used once like an evolutionary stone at any time. Think about it as a final stage evolution rather than a temporary boost. We allow custom mega evolutions to be made for pokemon who do not have them, though the design is subject to approval. 

• Shiny pokemon are not special. 

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES

• Character image must be a full body drawing, from head to feet.

• Character image must be drawn by you, or you must have permission from the artist to use it for this purpose-- no exceptions.

• Please make sure your images are scaled appropriately to the application, especially if they are too small. Limbs/extremeties going off of the app for dramatic flare is fine. 

• Traditionally drawn images are 100% okay as long as they are cleaned up! If you require assistance in making your traditional drawing transparent to put on the app, please ask! We are more than happy to help you with this. 

• Weapons/props can be really hard to draw. You are allowed to shamelessly trace items such as guns/knives/complicated mechanical parts/furniture etc. Just acknowledge that you have done this, and credit where it is due. 

• Please keep your visual application SFW. No visible feminine nipples, bulges, various creases, excessive gore, obvious fetish content, etc. 

REALLY SPECIFIC INFORMATION / LORE

The pieces of information below are about really specific things. It's more than likely that nothing here will apply to you. You don't have to worry about reading any of this before making a character unless you find the topic interesting... If it does happen to be applicable to whatever you have in mind, we will personally direct you to these resources! 

LIST OF POKEMON THAT ARE ALLOWED TO BE CONSIDERED ARTIFICIAL / INORGANIC / CREATED

It's possible for these pokemon to have been created in some way, whether that be experimentally in a lab, as a golem assistant, or as a robot by scientists. We won't require you to use that as an origin, but you can if you want to!

POKEMON THAT HAVE LONGER THAN USUAL LIFESPANS

In our universe, some species of pokemon genetically have longer lifespans than the average ursaring. These types and species can live beyond 150+ years before being considered elderly, and may even maintain a younger appearance until then. As with anything else in this section, you do not have to use this information, but you can if you want to!

UNUSUAL MOVES AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL FACTOR

When someone is raised from childhood in a system outside of their typing, there is a small chance that they may learn a move outside of their regular move pool. In example, a Pikachu, normally an Electric type, would not be able to learn the move Mud-slap. If that Pikachu was raised on Taenarius, there is a small chance that they would be able to know Mud-slap due to the environmental factors of their upbringing. We have a couple rules about this:
