Picking the right career for your character is important-- that's why we've created such an extensive list of available occupations for you to choose from. Some jobs even have extended mechanics, while others remain simple for more casual roleplayers.
For now, there is no limit on career slots, but we retain the right to lock a career if we believe it's become oversaturated. There's a job for everyone on Erebus, but if there isn't, scroll to the bottom of the page for instructions on how you may be able to change that.

The Justice career path maintains order where law, politics, and power intersect. From patrolling the streets to handling covert operations, its members walk a fine line between duty and compromise. Some uphold the law with integrity; others bend it to achieve results. Whether enforcing, defending, or exploiting the system, each role carries weight.
Agents represent the highest order of the Justice system. At times, their work may be secretive, receiving direct orders from the government.
Specialties: Infiltration Specialist, Field Agent, Forensics Analyst, and Cyber Ops.
Knights are the standard form of law enforcement on Erebus. Vanguard is the highest tier of knight, comparable to a sheriff, Sentinels are a small division of mechs, and Enforcers are your regular, every-day beat cops.
Specialties: Vanguard, Sentinel (Mech Division), Enforcer, Recruit
Counselors serve as the legal voice of the criminally accused. They are essentially an Attorney. A counselor has the ability to get a criminal out of prison.
Informants are the middle man between the criminal underbelly and justice. While not formally a part of the justice system, they are compensated for valuable intelligence.
Bounty Hunters are independent vigilantes who track, capture, and sometimes eliminate targets in exchange for a reward. They are not bound to the rigid structure of law enforcement.
Breakers are the outlaws of this world, and the term covers just about everything that could be considered criminal activity; drug and weapons trafficking, vandalism, robbery, shady black market dealings, cyber crime, smuggling, and everything else comparable.
The Science & Medical path drives progress, innovation, and survival. From life-saving procedures to dangerous experimentation, its members shape the future through knowledge and discovery. Some push the limits in pursuit of breakthroughs, while others focus on preservation and care. Whether in a lab, a field clinic, or deep underground, their work defines the line between life and death in many cases.
Leads scientific advancement and sets the direction for all major projects. They oversee teams, secure funding, and decide how far the limits of science will be pushed.
Carries out research and experiments that fuel technological and medical progress. Their work often forms the backbone of innovation, but breakthroughs can come with risks-- and consequences.
Delivers frontline care and medical expertise, from emergency response to specialized treatment. Their role is vital for preserving life amid both routine and extraordinary circumstances.
Specialties: Surgeon, Doctor, Nurse, EMT
Designs, builds, and maintains advanced systems, machinery, and infrastructure.
Specialties: Programming, Robotics, Advanced Prosthetics, Erebus Maintenance
Oversees the growth, research, and preservation of essential resources in an age where most food production is automated. Their expertise sustains both ecosystems and aesthetics.
Specialties: Agricultural Research, World Tree Care, Aesthetic Design, Terraforming
Erebus Services keeps the city running, from its streets to its highest offices. Though often overlooked, this path forms the foundation of daily life, managing the infrastructure, paperwork, and unseen labor that holds everything together.
Part of the education system, such as a teacher in school or a professor at a university. Education on Erebus is taken somewhat seriously, and educators are well paid and highly respected individuals.
Handles the removal, recycling, and treatment of waste and debris. It’s demanding, often thankless work that keeps the city livable. This includes any janitorial staff.
Manages the flow of information, documentation, and administration that drives Erebus’ inner workings. Whether in a cubicle or behind a counter, they make sure everything in their deparmants is carried out to perfection. Or not.
The Miscellaneous path covers the trades, crafts, and callings that don’t fall neatly into the other categories. From those who keep businesses running to those who create, entertain, or take work as it comes, this field is diverse and often the backbone of everyday life.
Repairs, restores, and reclaims ships, machinery, and valuable parts. At times, their work extends to recovering wreckage or derelicts from the depths of space.
Runs or works within inns, hotels, and other establishments of rest and service.
Moves goods and resources across planets and systems, from dispatch to delivery and crew.
Maintains order within the Newgate Correctional Facility, from guard work to essential maintenance.
Sports and athletics, as well as fighting in any sort of official career-like capacity (such as a colosseum fighter.)
An owner or employee of a restaurant or cafe of any kind. This can include cooks, servers, baristas, or any other role that could fall within the realm of food service.
Entertainment is all encompassing for stage performance, actors, musical endeavors, comedians, content creators, streamers, idols, and entertainers of any kind.
Creator is all encompassing for artists of any kind, such as painters, ceramicists, jewelery makers, fashion designers, tailors, photographers, and anything else that could fall into that category.
Hired help is exactly what it sounds like, whether that be a jack of all trades, a drifter, or someone who is paid to take on any tasks-- even morally ambiguous ones.
Someone who explorers and goes on expeditions, or even travels as a career. While similar to hired help, this career is always on the move, and may be called upon for dangerous explorative missions.
