You can call our office to talk to a counselor to discuss your concerns and how best to approach the student. If you are comfortable talking with the student, ask her or him to come to your office after class. Tell the student what you have observed. Ways to talk to the student are discussed on the Student in Distress page on this website. You can encourage the student to come to our office, or bring the student to see us. You can arrange for us to be "on call" when you are meeting with the student. While we do not do substance abuse treatment, we can work with the student to find treatment; and we can support them while in treatment while in school.
