PSC Events

Summer Park Days are a fun opportunity for families to connect, make new friends, and meet teachers in their child's grade level.  Returning families can enjoy the park setting while they catch up, and new families are welcomed and become acquainted with the community, forming bonds to start off the school year.  

On the first day of school, we invite parents to gather on the blacktop, where freshly brewed coffee and snacks will be waiting to greet them. It's the perfect opportunity to connect and get to know other families. We believe that building a strong network of support and camaraderie is vital for a successful school experience, and this gathering sets the stage for a year filled with collaboration and community. 

An enjoyable beginning to the school year, where you can reunite with old pals and forge new friendships. Families can delight in a diverse range of entertaining games and activities. Information booths for PSC, the Buddy Program, Enrichments, Selectives, RaiseRight, and more will be present. You can also indulge in delicious food for sale, with proceeds supporting the 8th Grade Graduation After Party. Additionally, Kona Ice will be on hand for those who wish to make a purchase.

Get ready to unleash your creativity with our vibrant Tie Dye for All event! As we kick off another amazing school year, we're excited to offer every student and teacher a t-shirt that they can transform into a unique display of school spirit. On this fun-filled day, our campus will be buzzing with color and laughter as everyone gathers to bring their artistic visions to life. With an array of vibrant dyes and expert guidance, you'll have the opportunity to create eye-catching patterns and designs that reflect your individual style. Whether you prefer bold and bright or subtle and pastel, there's no limit to the possibilities. 

The Fall Festival is an exciting event filled with fun and games. Explore our vibrant campus and enjoy activities like face painting, arts and crafts, classroom games, and more.

Satisfy your taste buds with delicious homemade treats from our bake sale and indulge in fresh delights from the community farmer's market.

Satisfy your cravings with a dinner prepared by the dedicated 8th-grade graduation team. By enjoying their culinary efforts, you'll not only treat your taste buds but also support their graduation celebration.

The Family Dance is an unforgettable fun event where the whole family can hit the dance floor and create lasting memories together. Feel the beat and move your feet to the lively beats provided by DJ Enamel.  As you dance the night away, take a break and refuel with delicious food available for purchase. Indulge in scrumptious bites knowing that every purchase contributes to the fundraising efforts for the memorable 8th-grade graduation celebration.

Laps for Learning is Discovery's version of a Walkathon that puts the power of giving in the hands of our enthusiastic students.

Unlike traditional Walkathons that count laps, Discovery students will seek flat donations from their friends and family members for their participation in this energetic event. It's a fantastic opportunity for our students to actively contribute to the success of next year's daytime field trips.

Organized by grade level, students will walk or run together, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared purpose. 

Laps for Learning is our most significant fundraiser of the year. It's an opportunity for our community to rally together, support our students, and ensure unforgettable educational experiences.

Spring Auction is a memorable community night out filled with laughter, delicious food, and great company. Relax, socialize, and foster connections within our community during this adults-only soirée.  Come and mingle with fellow parents, teachers, and staff members!

Get ready for an exciting bidding experience with captivating items up for grabs, including classroom baskets, artwork, vacation packages, and exclusive Buy-A-Spot classes. Every bid directly benefits our school community, supporting student field trips, teacher mini-grants, and overnight field trip scholarships.

A Buy-A Spot is a service or skill people have to share with other people. This could look like a painting party at someone’s house or a cooking class on how to make fresh pasta and pesto sauce at school.

BAS has the potential to earn more money for our school!!

Not only is it a great fundraising tool, but it is also a great opportunity to strengthen social connections within our community.

DCS has been hosting its very own Maker Day since 2015. Maker Day is a day of hands-on creativity, play, exploration, and learning. DCS classrooms host individual Maker Space activities. Students will roam the different activities and pursue their interests. They might upcycle materials into something new, build a MacGyver flashlight, or learn which parachute design works best in a wind tunnel. 

Restaurant Nights are monthly events where Discovery partners with a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting our school. When you dine at the designated restaurant, a percentage of the sales is given to PSC. It's not just about fundraising – it's an opportunity to come together as a community and enjoy good food in great company. Don't miss out on this special evening of community connection and giving back!

Multiple times a year, we offer both on-campus and online fairs for families to shop and explore a wide selection of new and popular titles. With a percentage of the sales given back to the school, you can help us purchase new books and nurture a love for reading in our community. Experience the magic of family camping weekends, where we gather in both spring and fall to enjoy the great outdoors. Join us around the campfire, connect with friends from different grade levels, and create unforgettable memories together. It's a chance to relax, have fun, and strengthen the bonds within our community. Don't miss out on these incredible weekends filled with laughter, nature, and cherished moments.

Several times a year we hold campus clean-up days, where we come together as a community to beautify our school grounds. Parents play a crucial role in assisting teachers with tasks in their classrooms and tackling various projects around campus. It's a wonderful opportunity to support our dedicated educators and create a welcoming environment for all. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a clean and thriving campus for our students to learn and grow.

Throughout the year, we take time to show our heartfelt appreciation to the incredible teachers and staff at Discovery. Each grade level gets a chance to shower them with gratitude through special gestures like luncheons or snack carts. Additionally, during a dedicated week, we go all out to celebrate them by decorating their classroom doors, bringing treats, and expressing our thanks through cards and messages. It's our way of recognizing their hard work and dedication.
