"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow."
When it comes to field trips, enrichments, and selectives, no other school in the Bay Area compares to Discovery. Our school is unique in the "extra" hands-on opportunities for students to discover their passion. These supplemental hands-on learning opportunities bring learning to life. These include: field trips (9 per year per class), classroom enrichments (led by passionate parents), and after-school programs.
It’s better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times. Discovery truly takes this message to heart and integrates at least 9 field trips per year into the class curriculum. This allows our students hands-on opportunities to build connections between classroom learning and the "real-world".
Enrichments are classes that go beyond the core curriculum. These classes can include topics such as cooking and gardening for the younger students, or calligraphy, 3D printing, and robotics for the older students. Most enrichments are led by parents who love to bring their passion into the classroom.
Want more? For those looking for activities that go beyond the school day, additional opportunities to learn are offered through an after-school program. These programs provide students with a chance to explore different interests such as music, sports, chess, etc. After school programs run in the fall and spring.
