Scouts is an outdoor CCA. What happens if it rains during CCA hours?
Our seniors always have a wet weather plan and prepare activities that can be done indoors. For example, we can work on proficiency badges indoors or test our lashing (knot-tying) skills.
Do I have to pay for the set of uniforms?
As all of the expenses for our uniform will be covered by the CCA and MOE, you need not pay for anything.
However, should you wish to get a new set of uniforms, the cost will be covered by you.
What is the point of collecting badges?
Collecting badges is a fulfilling part of scouting where we can see our achievements. Apart from that, it also shows the dedication an individual has for Scouting.
Event badges shows the participation of a Scout from various events.
What are the badges about?
There are four different types of badges, the Event badge, Commemorative badge, Progress badge, Proficiency badge and the Incentive badge.
The event and commemorative badges are awarded when participating in various events, like camps. They are a reminder of the memorable experiences of an individual in their scouting journey.
The progress badge is earned as scouts advance through the ranks or complete specific requirements outlined by the scouting organization. These badges often signify a scout's progress in mastering skills, gaining knowledge, or fulfilling certain criteria as they move forward in their scouting journey.
Proficiency badges are awarded for demonstrating proficiency or mastery in specific skills or areas of interest. These badges typically require scouts to learn and showcase abilities related to various subjects such as first aid, camping, environmental conservation, or crafts.
Incentive badges serve as motivators or rewards for scouts to participate in activities, display positive behaviour, or achieve set goals within the scouting program. They encourage active involvement and can be earned through a variety of means, promoting enthusiasm and dedication among scouts.

Are there different levels or ranks within the Phantom Scouts, and how do members progress?
Yes, there is. The highest rank is the Senior Patrol Leader and the Troop Leader. Apart from that, there are Patrol Leaders, Secretary in Charge, Secretaries, Safety Officer In Charge, First Aiders, Quarter Master in Charge and Quarter Masters. Together, they plan the Scout meetings and guide the members to be the best that they can be.
A member must have the qualities the leadership role requires in order to progress. For example, to become a Troop Leader, he must be able to lead a large group of people, plan events, be efficient and more.
What are the commitments that have to be made when joining this CCA?
In a year, every scout should join at least one event (whether it is camps, campfires, jamborees etc.)
Time must be put aside in joining every scout meeting, and they must provide a valid reason to not attend any session.
Do I have to be physically fit to join this CCA?
No. Although it would be great to be physically fit in certain scouting activities, you need not be physically fit to join our CCA. We are inclusive, and there are many activities that do not require us to be strong, like backwoodsman or campcraft.
