Choosing a Tent

Choosing a tent (if you do not already own one) can be tricky. These simplified suggestions work for modern and period tents alike (Parthius 86):

  • Get a bigger tent than you think you need height and width-wise. Bigger, in this case, is definitely better
  • Your tent needs to fit in your car or trailer
  • Considering worst case scenarios, you should be able to put your tent together yourself
  • A tent with a floor will help protect from some cold and water.
  • Consider durability. Are you thinking you’re a 2-3 events per year person or a 20-25 events per year person? This can greatly affect the quality of the tent you buy.
