First Ever Economic Crisis
The Minuscule Joy was the name of the Economic Depression that lasted between February 14th-June 4th, 2026. It was caused when the Government overspent which saw the Treasury nearly depleted between only 200 and 400 Puros or 100 and 200 US dollars. Many Pearsicans had to fight against poverty due to many state-owned companies not able to pay them, the National Bank not storing citizens money, even free market companies not able to pay wages and guilds weakening economic opportunity on Colin’s Route. Protests and unions rose up during the months of the economic depression which further threatened inactivity of the Nation. The Government issued Acts & decrees such as the LeAnn Recovery Plan Act or Executive Order No.56. Many of these acts strengthened the credibility of the Banks, enforced social security, bust down monopolies, put more efforts into projects, invested in the farming program, helped business and established new precautions for natural disasters. This dire economic crisis issued the calling of the First National Citizens Convention by President Mason Pearson which is a constitutional body summoned during the crisis and is made up of every Pearsican 8 and above. The Convention passed many of the mentioned Acts and also ordered the Government to quickly intervene as possible.
Aid Relief
One June 4th it was declared, after saving money and donations to the Treasury, that the Minuscule Joy was over. The economic crisis, being our first, will still have an effect on our Nation through institutional change and legal enforcement.
