PDMU LGSF Caravan advances LGUs around Western Visayas

The Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) of the DILG 6 has concluded its month-long Hinun-anon: The LGSF Financial Assistance to LGUs Caravan last August 9, 2023 at San Jose, Antique after kicking off last July 6, 2023 with Iloilo Province as its first stop.

This solution-seeking initiative geared towards addressing the pressing issues and concerns of LGUs with regards to project implementation is in collaboration with the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), which facilitated capacity building workshops focused on attendees identifying thematic problems and challenges before strategizing means to resolve them.

Almost 800 participants composed of LGU functionaries and DILG Field Office personnel conceived and drafted action plans integral to the improvement of project implementation for programs under the Local Government Support Fund such as Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU), Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP), and Growth Equity Fund (GEF).

To share tactics that allowed them quality execution of their DILG-administered projects, the following LGUs presented their offices' best practices during their respective Caravan legs for Iloilo (July 6), Capiz (July 20), Aklan (July 21), Guimaras and Iloilo City (July 28), Negros Occidental and Bacolod City (August 3), and Antique (August 9):

Meanwhile, LGSF infographic brochures were distributed to further answer frequently asked questions and provide fast facts about the programs and their requirements.

Consequent to this convention, the PDMU and LGCDD teams processed the consolidated data during the Caravan Results Deliberation last August 16, 2023. Personnel from the Regional Office as well as the PDMS Chiefs of the Provincial and City Offices convened to  formulate a synthesized output, which was later on presented to the Department heads on August 18, 2023 for appropriate action and reference.
