The program’s fund was appropriated under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) as financial assistance to LGUs, except for those under the BARMM, for the construction, concreting, rehabilitation, repair or improvement of the following: local roads and bridges, public markets, slaughterhouses, multi-purpose buildings/halls, multi-purpose pavements, drainage canals, sea wall or river wall, water system projects including Level 1 or stand-alone water points, evacuation centers, public parks, fish ports, and post-harvest facilities composed of ice plant and cold storage facilities.

The FALGU Fund also supports the purchase of ambulances, trucks, mini dump trucks, multi-purpose vehicles or multicabs, street lighting or barangay electrification, purchase of medical equipment, financial assistance for health and sports program, assistance programs and projects for education, health and social protection in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and assistance to indigent individuals or families in the form of medical, burial, transportation, food assistance, cash for work, or educational assistance.

FALGU is one of the programs under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) that directly provides financial assistance to LGUs to support various priority programs and projects that are necessary for delivering basic services.
