Marguerite Boix - expert in evaporation of thin films in vacuum.
Directions of anchorings produced by evaporated SiO films depend on the angle of incidence of the evaporating beam. The anchoring is planar monostable in C, oblique bistable between C and B, and oblique monostable between B and A (PhD thesis of B. Jérôme).

Some experiments don't need to be complex nor expensive; the rapidity of their realisation is more important. The internship M2 2019 of three students from ENS Paris-Cachan has such a profile. Without the help of the trio : Vincent Klein, Sambath Saranga et Jérémie Sanchez from the team El Instru this internship could never be successful in a short lapse of time: one month .

The scheme above shows the principle of the experiment described in details in the page M1 ENS Paris-Cachan 2019. Thanks to the help of the team El Instru, the setup shown on the picture on right was realised in one month.
The electronic circuit above is simple, but not too much so that it plays perfectly its role. The mechanical setup shown in the picture on right was realised partially by means of a 3D printer. It is precise but not too much and plays also perfectly its role.
