Linux OS/Operating System usually comes with the following editors built in, and, all ready to go...
Nano, a fairly easy and, straight forwards to use text editor...for all those people who are not already familiar with knowing how to use the far more complex Vim editor program. (You, basically, just use the arrow keys to move around...and, do whatever editing your wish.)
Vim, a very highly technical editor...that comes with, literally, 100's of commands...which needs a lot of time and effort to go learn. However, you can learn to use it on a purely basic level, immediately, straight away...providing you read up a bit on learning basic usage.
