I am not hugely familiar with Linux OS...; however, I have used it before, at least, temporarily. (My usual OS/Operating System is, in fact, Microsoft Windows).
Linux comes in many different flavours: Debian/Ubuntu/Cent OS/Mint/-etc.; the flavour's I personally can recall using are as follows:-
Linux Ubuntu
(Ubuntu 18 LTS, GUI)/a 'dual boot', (Windows 7)
(Ubuntu 20 LTS/CLI)/on remotely run Linode/Digital Ocean servers...usually, logging in by using SSH from MS DOS Command Prompt/or, Windows Powershell/also, used FileZilla to FTP(shttp://), (Windows 10 Pro).
Raspbian Linux, Raspberry Pi OS/Operating System GUI...which I recall sometimes using Putty to SSH into, as well.
CLI/Command Line Interface
FTP/File Transfer Protocol
GUI/Graphical User Interface
LTS/Long Term Support
OS/Operating System
SSH/Secure Shell
