MEET THE COMMUNITY**Volunteers and Members are welcome to join. Contact ria.paccal@gmail.com for inquiries.
At the heart of PACCAL’s mission is the unwavering belief that every newcomer deserves the opportunity to thrive. The New Immigrants Program was created as a lifeline for individuals and families recently arriving in Hudson County, many of whom face the overwhelming challenges of starting over in a new country—language barriers, cultural adjustment, housing insecurity, and lack of access to resources.
Through culturally competent services and compassionate guidance, the program supports immigrants in building a solid foundation for life in the U.S. Services include orientation workshops, ESL and citizenship classes, referrals for legal and health services, and assistance navigating city and county benefits. Community navigators—often former immigrants themselves—serve as mentors, offering peer support that fosters trust and dignity.
Whether someone is seeking a job, a safe place to live, or simply a welcoming space to connect, the New Immigrants Program offers more than just information—it offers community. It empowers participants to take their first steps with confidence, knowing that they are not alone.
Backed by support from individual donors, organization members, and community partners, PACCAL’s program honors the courage of those who journey to build a better life and ensures they are met with not just services—but solidarity, belonging, and hope.
