Internet Options

Plant 51 has two primary Internet Service Providers:

Sail Internet 

• Up to 1 Gbps download 

• 300Mbps upload (mostly for video conferencing, uploading files and photos online)

• Unlimited data

Comcast Xfinity 

• Up to 2.0 Gbps down (depending on speed tier purchased)

• Up to 400 Mbps upload (mostly for video conferencing, uploading files and photos online)

• 1.2TB data cap (depending on plan, typically this is not hit)

• TV/Xfinity Mobile/Voice bundle options

Others

• Dish/DirectTV - don't even bother, they aren't really internet options

• Fixed wireless e.g. Verizon Home Internet / ATT Home Internet isn't great given the spotty reception for cell phones at Plant 51.

Underlying Technology

Sail uses the ATT Fiber Backhaul --> Wireless transmitter --> Wireless receiver on P51 rooftop --> Switch in the mezzanine floor telecom closet ---> Ethernet to your telecom panel

Xfinity uses Comcast Fiber Backbone --> Node (converts fiber to radio frequency) --> Amplifier (one per building mezzanine floor) --> Taps (also in mezzanine) --> Coax in your telecom panel
