Medium:Pencil, Colored Pencil, Ruler, Sketchbook

For our first project of the year we were assigned to make a portrait of Afghanistan Children, I was assigned Samir, he is 14 years old, and his favorite color is black. Throughout the project I learned a lot about the culture of Afghanistan through research, so i was able to connect with my project a lot. The process I went through, was a started off with a grid on a printed out picture of him and was able to copy himself onto my sketchbook, then researched color of skin, and how to make it then practicing it, then applying it onto my drawing, I went through many tests and iterations, until I got to the finished product, I had difficulty making the skin color, which i solved by practicing and trying multiple times, but I did find success with the face structure and shape.
