For this piece I wanted to capture the liminal space of the subway, the intermediate area in between destination A and B. I wanted to capture the surreal aspects of these liminal spaces. Within them nothing is permanent, the trains come and go, the people come and go, distorting reality and perspective if you stick around long enough. My inspirations for this piece are the surrealist pieces by Salvador Dali, and the art deco period to represent the distortion of time. I think the piece could have used more detail, but I subsided this by using good linework, and intriguing patterns.
