CP Planning in consultation with OVCO developed the Planning Backgrounder which is an extensive resource on the different planning policies and different ways to gain affordable housing within planning. Stay tuned as we make this large report into digestible pieces to give better access to this information to all community members!
The AHWG was one of a number of working groups developing OV Futures Search. Attached is the final report for affordable housing and what the community is asking for. The AHWG is continuing their work through meeting with councilors and internal meetings aimed at figuring out ways to get these needs met.
This presentation provides details on the City of Toronto's Inclusionary Policy and why we are advocating for Little Jamaica to be included in this policy. Inclusionary Zoning requires developers to include a certain percent of affordable housing (rent and own) in their high rise developments.
This presentation goes into the concept of a Community Land Trust which can be utilized to protect and maintain current affordable housing. Other neighborhoods in Toronto (Parkdale and Kensington Market) have achieved land trusts to further affordable housing.
