On Saturday, January 11, 2025, a “Be Prepared” Meeting was held at our Clubhouse to inform park residents about our Disaster/Emergency Plan, Ventura County’s Tsunami Evacuation Plan, and Preparing for an Evacuation.
The meeting was scheduled three months in advance, but it could not have been timelier because of the horrific and devastating fires that occurred this week in LA County, adjacent to Ventura County.
The presentation was provided by our Disaster/Emergency Committee Team. Adrian Ortega, the committee chair, was the spokesperson presenting. Special thanks to our Recreation Committee and to other residents who helped at the meeting.
Residents were provided with information about our Park’s Disaster/Emergency Plan regarding Resident’s and Management’s responsibilities, as well as Equipment/Supplies available. In the event of a Tsunami, the location of where to assemble at Southwest Park was provided.
If case of an order to evacuate, suggestions and props were provided on preparing and what to take.
Over 90 residents attended, and 63 spaces were represented.
“BE PREPARED”. No one can predict when, where, and what disaster/emergency may occur.
