Ingredients:
1 thin-skinned seedless orange, grated
1 cup raisins, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 cup cracker crumbs
1 sheet puff pastry
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine the grated orange, chopped raisins, sugar, beaten egg, and cracker crumbs. Mix well.
Unroll the puff pastry and roll it out even thinner. Spread the orange mixture evenly over the dough.
Roll up the dough jelly-roll style and cut into 1-inch thick slices.
Place the slices on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Tips:
For a more flavorful filling, add 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to the orange mixture.
To make your Torys more festive, decorate them with a drizzle of icing or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Orange Torys are best enjoyed warm, but they can also be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days.
